Sport : Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman wins world title

Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman, 18 years old Malaysian bowler becoming the youngest bowler to lift the women’s title in the World Ranking Masters in Naples, Italy, yesterday. She claimed the title from last year winner, Wendy Chai from Indonesia.

The triumph, worth a cool RM36,600, was extra sweet for the youngster who had spent some RM7,000 of her own savings to compete in Naples because she did not qualify on merit. Furthermore, she only made the cut because 10 other qualifiers had decided not to take part in the meet.

“This is one of my happiest moments. I won the world title in my first attempt in the World Ranking Masters,”
