News : RM200 million to RM1b worth of syabu seized

Inspector general of police Tan Sri Musa Hassan today confirmed that the container lorry seized yesterday in Jalan Kuantan-Segamat, near Rompin, Pahang was carrying syabu. "But according to our estimate, it cannot be worth RM1 billion," he said when contacted by Bernama, adding that police were investigating the source of the 900kg drugs.

The drug, in crystal form, was found in an ice lorry that the off-duty policeman flagged down in Jalan Kuantan-Segamat about 6am. The policeman identified himself to the three men in the vehicle and, on searching the cargo hold, found plastic bins containing crystals.
